Born: Sydney, Australia, Lives: Los Angeles, USA
Ever since trying to stand up in her mother’s high heels as a young child, Yolande Gabriel Mingramm has been hooked on fashion. Having studied the science of fashion outside of normal classes during High School, Yolande went on to further her design education at Sydney’s Whitehouse Institute of Design. After leaving school she continued her education at the most innovative fashion school in Australia, East Sydney Technical College, where many of the country’s most successful designers studied, including Lisa Ho and Alex Perry - whom she did work experience with later in her journey. Yolande could be described as curious, innovative sometimes reckless… with an urge to spread her wings. Always up to discover more of what life has to offer, Yolande was soon on a plane to London to study at the famous Central Saint Martins, University of Arts London, known for producing designers such as Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen.
An unexpected career changed Yolande's direction and she ended up relocating to Dubai to become an Air Hostess and quickly worked her way into the Private Jet Aviation industry working for Royal families, Celebrities and the richest people in the world which then relocated her to Los Angeles.
The fast paced lifestyle of the rich and famous took on its own life in which Yolande had to take on her own journey internally to facilitate her lifestyle. In that, her new venture was born that encapsulated her fast paced, global lifestyle. One that is always ready for adventure, going from day into night, beach to bar all while exuding confidence, quality and captivation. She was continuously inspired by the many destinations and cultures of music and cuisine and of the constant transference while travelling. Transeasonal dressing was paramount to sustain the lifestyle. Yolande Gabriel was born and represents the worldly, International woman.
“After living out of a suitcase for 15 years and having to uphold such a glamorous standard of appearance, I found myself reaching for garments that were well made, travelled easy, could be worn various ways and from day to night or as I like to say beach to bar”, describes Yolande.
“The Yolande Gabriel woman is not afraid to be herself, has a voice and doesn’t need to try and fit in. Her style is relaxed yet intriguing and may travel the right or wrong way, but most importantly – her way,” she adds with a smile.
“There are only a limited number of each style produced during each range, giving some exclusivity to the brand. I like the idea of having your own personality or fashion sense, allowing you to stand out from the crowd.”.
“The designs are drawn from my imagination and uniquely made with an attention to detail and individuality,” says Yolande.
